In the swing state of North Carolina, Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump competed for the 16 Electoral College votes, with Trump coming out on top.

This year’s presidential winner will be determined in large part by the state, which has turned into a fiercely heated battlefield.

Trump has emphasized that he will tackle illegal immigration, rising crime numbers, and the U.S. economy in his appeal to American voters.

Since assuming the Democrat presidential nominee role following President Joe Biden’s withdrawal, even though she was not voted in, Harris has maintained that she would usher in a new era and has run on a platform of “defending democracy,” advancing the economy, and defending “the right to have an abortion.”

One Democrat Party claim and talking point revolves around the conspiracy that Trump will be a fascist leader who takes away “all forms of democracy” in the country.

In 2020, Biden received 49% of the vote in North Carolina, while Trump received 50%. Trump defeated Hillary Clinton by 51% to 47% in North Carolina in 2016.

This time around, Trump received 50.7% of votes, while Harris received 47.8% of votes.
