Donald Trump’s attorney Will Scharf discussed how the 45th president’s legal team will fight Special Counsel Jack Smith’s election interference indictment following the Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity.

During an interview with CNN on Monday, Scharf said he believes there is not sufficient private conduct by Trump to support Smith’s ongoing prosecution.

The attorney contended that the so-called fake electors scheme at the heart of Smith’s indictment fall under official acts of the presidency, which would shield Trump from legal action.

Scharf also said Trump’s legal team would have the opportunity to appeal any immunity decision made by the district court if it does not rule in the 45th president’s favor.

He said that the Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity on Monday, is a decisive blow to the lawfare being waged against the 45th president.
