According to a police report released on Wednesday, authorities said that Fetterman (D-Pa.) was driving his Chevrolet Traverse “at a high rate of speed, well over the posted speed limit” prior to rear ending a Chevrolet Impala. The speed limit was 70 miles per hour.

The driver of the other vehicle was a 62-year-old woman. All three individuals involved in the crash were taken to War Memorial Hospital in West Virginia in ambulances. Fetterman was treated for a bruised shoulder.

Additionally, in the report it was also added that it is unclear if the senator was distracted at the time of Sunday’s crash.

No citations have been issued as the investigation is reportedly still ongoing.

The senator took to X (Twitter) to thank his supporters for their well wishes.
