The Puerto Rico Ice Hockey Association (PRIHA) presents Fiesta de Hockey
New York 2023. The event will feature music, food, “Serie de Desafiadores” exhibition games featuring Puerto Rico’s National and Development teams, meet-and-greet’s with PRIHA athletes, and more. This is a fun-filled weekend for the entire family and an opportunity to watch hockey (parrandas are recommended) and be a part of the experience with tons of hands-on activity.
The event will take place at City Ice Pavilion located at 47-32 32nd Pl. in Long Island City and World Ice Arena, at 131-04 Meridian Rd. at Flushing Meadows Corona Park Aquatic Center in Queens. The event will be open to the public from June 8 to June 10 with the primary exhibitions starting at 7 p.m. on all days. The event will be free to the public with an option to make a donation and/or purchase merchandise.
Jamaica will be joining the event with their Men’s National Team competing in a

Didn’t know Puerto Rico had an ice hockey team? PRIHA is the sole governing body for ice and inline hockey in Puerto Rico and manages the Puerto Rico National Teams. PRIHA is part of the Puerto Rico National Olympic Committee through the Federation of Puerto Rican Winter Athletes (FPAI).
The association was founded less than three years ago in 2020 but has ambitions to become the top competitor in the Latin American ice hockey circuit (Mexico is
currently ranked 35 in the world and was formed in 1985). In less than three years, the
Association has grown to more than 300 male and female athlete-members of ages and skills. Puerto Rico is also a three-time LATAM Ice Hockey Champion (2021 Women, 2022 Men, 2022 U20 Men).
