The star of the new Snow White, Rachel Zegler said she wished Trump supporters would “never know peace,” triggering calls for a Disney boycott.

Following the backlash, Zegler issued an apology on her Instagram late on Thursday.
“I let my emotions get the best of me,” Zegler wrote to her 2.3 million followers on Instagram.
“Hatred and anger have caused us to move further and further away from peace and understanding, and I am sorry I contributed to the negative discourse.”
“This week has been emotional for so many of us but I firmly believe that everyone has the right to their opinion, even when it differs from my own,” she continued.
“I am committed to contributing positively toward a better tomorrow.”
This is just the latest controversy surrounding the Snow White film. In her early interviews for the film, the actress criticized the original, saying the prince is “a guy who literally stalks her.” She also suggested Prince Charming could be cut from the new version.
“I just mean that it’s no longer 1937,” Zegler said. “We absolutely wrote a ‘Snow White’ that . . . she’s not going to be saved by the prince, and she’s not going to be dreaming about true love; she’s going to be dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be.”
After the interview, the first behind-the-scenes pictures of the film leaked, showing “seven dwarves” that were men and women of different heights and races. Critics called it, “Snow White and the Seven Politically Correct Companions.”
Disney seemingly changed the film after an outcry, replacing the actors with CGI dwarves.
In response, conservative podcaster Megyn Kelly called out the young actress on Thursday for her political takes as well as Disney.
“Picture this, a Broadway actress who said, ‘F Biden supporters, may Biden and Kamala never know peace.’ That person would be fired so fast it would make your head spin,” Kelly fumed.
“Hello, Disney! You’re gonna have to redo your film again, because this woman is a pig, and you fired Gina Carano for far less than this nonsense.”
“There’s something wrong with this person,” Kelly said of Zegler.
Carano was fired from Disney’s hit series The Mandalorian in 2021 after she compared the treatment of conservatives in contemporary America to the treatment of Jews in Nazi Germany.
Zegler also stirred controversy in August, when she posted “free Palestine” on X after the first Snow White trailer was released online.
