A senior advisor working alongside the Kamala Harris campaign recently revealed that the failed Democrat candidate backed out of appearing on the Joe Rogan Experience (JRE) podcast because she reportedly feared backlash from the Democrat party and progressives, many of which are not fans of Rogan.

Jennifer Palmieri, a top senior advisor to second gentleman Doug Emhoff, Harris’ husband, revealed that Kamala essentially dodged an appearance on the most popular podcast in the world “because of concerns at how the interview would be perceived within the Democratic Party,” according to The Financial Times.

“There was a backlash with some of our progressive staff that didn’t want her to be on it, and how there would be a backlash,” Palmieri continued.

47th President-elect Donald Trump’s nearly three hour interview with Rogan, which recently aired on October 25th, currently has nearly 50 million views.

Rogan has since spoken out about his team’s back-and-forth contact with the Harris campaign, reiterating that she wanted the interview to only run for an hour, though Rogan’s podcast episodes are generally closer to three hours, and campaign staff also asked Rogan to go out of his way to travel to her for the interview.

Additionally, the campaign purportedly said there were certain topics that would be off limits to discuss.

“They had, I don’t know how many conversations with my folks, but multiple conversations giving different dates, different times, different this, different that, and we knew that she was going to be in Texas, so I said, ‘open invitation,’” Rogan stated. “I think they had requirements on things that she didn’t want to talk about, she didn’t want to talk about marijuana legalization, which I thought was hilarious.”

“I don’t know if she’s good at running things because you’d have to be behind the scenes to see how that works, but when it comes to talking off the top of her head, what she’s good at is a pre-rehearsed speech that she reads off a teleprompter. Pretty solid,” Rogan added.

Meanwhile, Libertarian political commentator Dave Smith, who was recently invited by Rogan to appear in an episode alongside Trump, declared that Harris wouldn’t agree to the interview since she “does not have three hours worth of things to say.”

“She tries to say nothing through a 15 minute interview. She tries to just fill space. She’s got nothing. She doesn’t have views on issues, she doesn’t think about public policy and read newspapers and have opinions about the latest conflict in whatever region of the world. She doesn’t have any of that, what was she gonna do?” Smith asserted, arguing that Harris wouldn’t have been able to sit through a potential three hour Rogan interview.
