On Wednesday, Biden and Trump met at the Oval Office, where the two began discussing plans for a peaceful transition of power when the president-elect takes the oath of office for a second time on January 20th

Biden also reportedly told Trump “welcome back” and congratulated him on his election win. The Democrat president added that he was “looking forward” to “having a smooth transition,” promising Trump would be “accommodated” with everything he needs.

“Politics is tough, and in many cases it’s not a nice world, but it is a nice world today,” Trump said while the two leaders sat by the fireplace. “It’ll be as smooth as it can get, and I very much appreciate it, Joe.”

Soon after, a number of reporters were quickly ushered out of the office as the rest of their meeting ensued.

First lady Jill Biden also joined the president in greeting Trump when he arrived at the White House.

Additionally, Jill handed Trump a handwritten letter of congratulations that was meant for his wife, former first lady Melania Trump, which expressed her own readiness to assist with the smooth transition.

However, a source close to Melania recently reached out to the press and stated that Melania would not be meeting with Jill Biden, as presidential first ladies typically do when transferring power, as the Bidens were responsible for the Mar-a-Lago raid that traumatized Melania after destroying and ransacking their rooms, closets, and offices.
