Early on Wednesday morning, Trump addressed the crowd at his watch party taking place at the Palm Beach Florida Convention Center.
Trump pledged to “help our country heal.”
“We have a country that needs help and needs help very badly,” he said, adding that he will “fix our borders” in a second term.
The president-elect thanked his supporters, saying, “I want to thank the American people for the extraordinary honor of being elected your 47th president and your 45th president.”
Trump stated that his campaign “overcame obstacles” in his White House bid.
“We overcame obstacles that nobody thought possible, and it’s now clear we’ve achieved the most incredible political thing — look what happened, is this crazy?” Trump stated.
“But it’s a political victory that our country has never seen before,” he added.
He also thanked his supporters for taking back control of the Senate.
Vice President-elect JD Vance thanked Trump for “the trust” he placed in him and called the election results “the greatest political comeback in the history” of the United States.
“After the greatest political comeback in American history, we’re going to lead the greatest economic comeback in American history under Donald Trump’s leadership,” Vance said.
As he thanked members of his family and his campaign team, the crowd asked Trump about tech mogul Elon Musk.
“We have a new star; a star is born: Elon,” Trump told his supporters, adding: “He’s an amazing guy. We were sitting together tonight. You know, he spent two weeks in Philadelphia, in different parts of Pennsylvania, campaigning.”
He praised Musk for his Starlink technology which helped bring internet and communication to those affected by Hurricane Helene.
He also thanked Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and said he is going “to help make America healthy again.”
Trump joined on stage by his entire family, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-La.), Dana White and U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau.
He finished his speech by saying that “God spared my life for a reason, and that reason is to save our country and to restore America to greatness. And now we are going to fulfill that mission together.”
