CNN’s lead Washington anchor, Jake Tapper, has gone viral for his animated reaction to Vice President Kamala Harris failing to outperform President Biden’s 2020 election results in every single state.
Harris’s defeat became apparent to Tapper in a viral moment after he analyzed the comparison between Biden’s 2020 performance, and Harris’s disastrous 2024 performance on live television.
John King, CNN’s chief national correspondent, displayed an election map showcasing the states in which Harris received 3% more votes than Biden’s 2020 victory, which to Tapper’s dismay, showed a grayed out map revealing her failure to outperform Biden across the board.
“Holy smokes!” Tapper exclaimed, analyzing the barren map. “Literally nothing?”
“Literally nothing,” King responded.
Instead, King was forced to zoom in, looking at counties in which Harris performed at least 3% better than Biden, and revealing Harris only performed better in 58 counties.
“So in counties, in 58 counties,” King explained. “We just showed Donald Trump was over a thousand counties of the 4,600 counties and townships across America.”
“There might be more out here on the West Coast, possibly one or two more as they finish the count here, but in the states that matter – again, I just showed you all these Trump counties – in one county in battleground Pennsylvania, she’s outperforming President Biden by 3% or more,” King added.
Harris’ brutal defeat prompted liberal and leftist commentators to launch into emotional meltdowns live on air, with MSNBC commentator Joy Reid labeling the state of Florida an “extremist, right-wing, fascist-type government.”
Reid continued, bizarrely blaming “White women voters” for Harris’ defeat. However, polling shows that White American women were a top supporting demographic for Harris, so this last minute claim prompted mockery on social media platforms.
“I think we have to be blunt about why [Harris lost], Black voters came through for Kamala Harris, white women voters did not.” Reid stated. “[Harris’s] message was not enough to get enough white women to vote for Vice President Harris, a fellow woman. This will be the second opportunity that white women in this country have to change the way that they interact with the patriarchy.”
The landslide victory saw former President Trump winning major swing states, a shift from the 2020 election, where he was able to recapture Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
Trump has also been projected to capture the popular vote, marking the first time a Republican has accomplished the feat since 2004.
