Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democrat nominee, has accused former President Donald Trump of being “unhinged and unstable” and seeking “unchecked power.”

On Wednesday, during her brief remarks, she made the accusations against the former president, quoting remarks made by Trump’s former chief of staff, John Kelly, in interviews with The New York Times and The Atlantic.

Trump previously explained on a Truth Social post that Kelly was “incapable of doing a good job, it was too much for him, and I couldn’t stand the guy, so I fired him like a ‘dog,’” so it makes sense why Kelly would see the former GOP president in a negative light, even despising him.

“It is clear from John Kelly’s words that Donald Trump is someone who, I quote, ‘certainly falls into the general definition of fascists,’ who in fact vowed to be a dictator on day one and vowed to use the military as his personal militia to carry out his personal and political vendettas,” Harris claimed. “Donald Trump is increasingly unhinged and unstable, and in a second term, people like John Kelly would not be there to be the guardrails against his propensities and his actions.”

Kelly, who worked for Trump from 2017 to 2019,  told left-wing outlets like The New York Times and The Atlantic that Trump meets the definition of a fascist and alleged that while in office, he suggested that Nazi leader Adolf Hitler “did some good things.”

However, another official who was fired by Trump during his administration, Mark Esper, a vocal critic of the former GOP president who served as the 27th Secretary of Defense and 23rd Secretary of the Army, admitted to CNN that he had never heard any sort of pro-Hitler or pro-fascist verbiage come out of Trump’s mouth.

“Donald Trump said that because he does not want a military that is loyal to the United States Constitution,” Harris claimed. “He wants a military that is loyal to him. He wants a military who will be loyal to him personally, one that will obey his orders, even when he tells them to break the law or abandon their oath to the Constitution of the United States.”

Harris continued, stating that it is “deeply troubling and incredibly dangerous” that Trump “would invoke Adolf Hitler, the man who is responsible for the deaths of 6 million Jews and hundreds of thousands of Americans.”

“Those who once tried to stop him from pursuing his worst impulses would no longer be there, and no longer be there to rein him in,” Harris said. “The bottom line is this: We know what Donald Trump wants. He wants unchecked power. The question in 13 days will be, what do the American people want?”

Kash Pater, who has served several roles in the Trump administration, defended the former president following Harris’s remarks.

“They want to call him Hitler and print out more disinformation,” Patel said. “I guess that’s all they got because Kamala Harris could have brought the hostages home right now in Israel from a war she started with $7 billion she gave to Iran, and she hasn’t brought home any of them. She started two more world wars.”

Meanwhile, social media users on X (Twitter) expressed that it is dishonest and misleading for journalists to take the claims of one man, Kelly, who already has a clear vendetta against Trump and who hasn’t provided any evidence or witnesses to support his claims, while placing those claims in headlines for the American public to see right before the election.
