Melania Trump has expressed growing skepticism and dissatisfaction towards the “official version of events” surrounding her husband, former President Donald Trump, and his assassination attempt, stating that “there is definitely more to this story” and “we need to uncover the truth.”

In a brand-new video posted to her social media accounts, Melania described the July 13th massacre in Pennsylvania, which claimed one life, caused two other severe injuries, and skimmed the former president’s ear after he miraculously moved his head at the perfect time, as a “horrible, distressing experience.”

“Now, the silence around it feels heavy. I can’t help but wonder why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech? There is definitely more to this story. And we need to uncover the truth,” Melania Trump said. The 20-year-old shooter was able to fire off multiple rounds from a nearby rooftop before he was killed by law enforcement officers.

The former first lady has never before discussed the incident on camera. However, following the failed attempt, she made a lengthy statement pleading with Americans to “ascend above the hate” while praising law enforcement and the counter sniper responsible for killing her husband’s attacker.

“America, the fabric of our gentle nation is tattered, but our courage and common sense must ascend and bring us back together as one,” she wrote in a statement.

The most recent remarks made by the former first lady coincide with the proliferation of theories and speculations regarding the attacker and the shooting, as well as conspiracies by the left related to how many Democrats believe that Trump “faked” the assassination. Despite searching the gunman’s past and internet activity, federal officials claim to have not yet determined his motivation.

Congress acted to launch inquiries into the security and communication lapses that allowed the gunman to fire a lethal round of bullets from a rooftop close to the platform where Trump was speaking. The bipartisan task force on the attempted shooting in the House, led by Representative Mike Kelly (R-Pa.), plans to have the first public meeting on their probe in the upcoming weeks.
