Residents living in Queens, New York near a transformed migrant center are being woken up at all hours of the night by large groups of unsupervised migrant children fighting, screaming, and chasing each other.

“I’ve seen the kids squaring off like its ‘Fight Club,’ and I’ve seen them choking each other,” a resident told the New York Post. “Sometimes, the guards will come out and break it up. But I’ve also seen them do nothing.”
“Five or six teenagers between 12 and 14-years-old were beating on a small child the other night,” the resident continued. “Kid couldn’t have been older than 8, and they were kicking him in the head after forcing him onto the sidewalk.”
The Wyndham Garden Hotel in Queens was sold in January for $24 million. The new owners, Long-Island based Bayrock Capital, immediately took a contract from the Department of Homeless Services and transformed the building into migrant housing.
The children’s loud shrieking all hours of the night has resulted in over 311 complaints since June.
“Because of the way the children scream and shriek, it pierces through everything,” another neighbor added. “Since around April, I would say it has been a nightly occurrence.”
“I have nothing against migrants, but to have to listen to this every night, unable to sleep, it’s becoming unbearable,” he added.
Security guards overseeing the site largely do nothing about the fighting and the loud noise, the frustrated residents reported.
Two residents living in the vicinity of the shelter have contacted local Councilwoman Julie Won (D-N.Y.) about the fighting and the noise.
“I was told DHS tells her the security guards will enforce the noise ordinance, but then they don’t,” stated one of the neighbors.
Reports of migrant crime and disturbance have exploded, resulting from the massive influx of illegal immigrants pouring in from the southern border under President Joe Biden and “border czar” Kamala Harris’s watch.
The problem has become existential for New York City as the city’s mayor, Eric Adams (D-N.Y.), has stated the problem “will destroy New York City,” as tens of thousands of migrants pour into the city requiring basic necessities.
