On Thursday, Weinstein’s consultant Craig Rothfeld elaborated on Weinstein’s health.

“[Weinstein is being] treated for the myriad of health conditions that he is still afflicted with on a daily basis such as diabetes, high blood pressure, spinal stenosis, fluid on his heart and lungs, and various other conditions,” he said.

Weinstein is currently awaiting retrial on rape and sexual assault charges after his original conviction was tossed out by appeal judges due to jurors hearing testimonies from women whose allegations were not part of the case.

Weinstein will have to wait for his retrial in custody due to another 2022 rape conviction case in California which landed him a sentence of 16 years behind bars. Weinstein’s defense attorneys claim the California conviction lacked a fair trial.

Weinstein maintains the claim that he has not raped or sexually assaulted anyone. He is set to be retried in November.
