According to multiple reports, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told President Joe Biden in a private phone call conversation that he cannot beat former President Donald Trump in the November election.

Pelosi (D-Calif.) also told Biden that if he keeps on the campaign trail it could potentially ruin the Democrats chances of winning the House in November, four sources told CNN

Additionally, during her meeting with the 81-year-old Biden, the 84-year-old Pelosi referred to several polls showing that Trump would beat him.

However, sources claimed that Biden gave push back and told Pelosi that all polls point to him being re-elected.

It was not a clear indication during the meeting if Pelosi told Biden to drop out of the race, but the conversation just comes one week after she and Barack Obama privately shared concerns over the president.

This comes after Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) encouraged Biden to drop out of the race on Saturday.

“Schumer forcefully made the case that it would be better for Biden, better for the Democratic Party, and better for the country if he were to bow out,” ABC News’ Jonathan Karl said on air Wednesday.

Meanwhile, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) and representative Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) are among the highest Democrat party leaders who have called for Biden to “pass the torch.”

Insiders have also stated that despite Biden’s stubbornness he has become more “receptive” to the idea of dropping out.

“He’s gone from saying ‘Kamala can’t win’ to ‘Do you think Kamala can win?’” a senior Democratic adviser told CNN.

The White House also told CNN that “President Biden is the nominee of the party.”

“He plans to win and looks forward to working with congressional Democrats to pass his 100-days agenda to help working families,” White House spokesperson Andrew Bates said.

It was confirmed on Wednesday morning that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) was delaying plans to virtually nominate Biden for another term, just after Schumer asked other party leaders for more time to discuss.
