At Kissaki Manhasset, which opened in October 2023, Garry Kanfer and his culinary team are dedicated to celebrating and sharing the essence of traditional Japanese cuisine. Anchored in the art of omakase sushi and the Kaiseki tradition, each menu offering is crafted with thoughtfully sourced, seasonal, and high-quality ingredients, providing guests with a sensory culinary journey.

Executive Chef Edgar Valerio channels his unwavering passion to create a culinary experience that feels like home for all. Joining Kissaki marked the next chapter in Chef Edgar’s culinary journey, where he honed his vision and developed his distinctive Omakase style. A self-proclaimed “sushi addict,” Kanfer saw launching a unique omakase experience as a natural progression. Kanfer, a serial entrepreneur, founder, and father of three, established Big Drop, a comprehensive digital agency that serves Fortune 500 clients across its three offices. Renowned for brand building and creating top-tier digital experiences, Big Drop played a crucial role in the development of the Kissaki brand. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck NYC, Kanfer led Kissaki’s swift transition to a high-efficiency take-out model, exclusively focused on delivering donated meals to New York’s frontline healthcare workers.

Diners can enjoy Kampachi Crudo, Shishito Peppers and Edamame in addition to Hokkaido Scallops, Chicken Karaage, Tuna Stuffed Avocado and Spicy King Crab. Maki includes Shrimp Tempura, Salmon and Negitoro. Entrees feature Wagyu Fried Rice, Uni Pasta, Spaghetti Dashi Pasta and Truffle Rice Donabe.

Kissaki classic cocktails feature Shiokaze (mezcal, nigori sake, grapefruit, angostura and aromatic cocktail bitters), Momo Sour (vodka, sake, egg yolk, white, cinnamon and ume), Smokey Paloma (mezcal, St. Germain elderflower liqueur, grapefruit and lime) and the Kosho Margarita (tequila, orange liquor, yuzu kosho pepper paste, lime, hot pepper bitters and sancho pepper). Sake and wine by the glass or bottle are also available in addition to beer on draft, bubbles, rose, martinis, tea, zero-proof refreshments, stirred cocktails and dessert cocktails.

There are several items on the menu for children, including a California roll, fried rice, chicken teriyaki and spaghetti.

Kissaki Manhasset is open Tuesday through Sunday, closed on Monday. Happy Hour is at the bar Tuesday through Thursday and on Sundays from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

There are plenty of streetside parking spots along Plandome Road and several spots available behind the building, with a rear entrance to the restaurant. Valet parking is available on Friday and Saturday.

Kissaki is located at 407 Plandome Rd in Manhasset. Additionally, Kissaki has locations in Miami and in Manhattan in the Bowery.
Seating is limited to approximately 60 seats. Reservations are necessary.
