Tuesday’s storms that swept across the Midwest and Ohio Valley resulted in the detection of at least two sizable tornadoes in Michigan and another in Indiana.

The National Weather Service (NWS) is advising everyone in the area of Portage, Michigan, to take cover as an “extremely dangerous tornado” was moving east at 35 mph just after 6 p.m.
“You are in a life-threatening situation,” the NWS said in a forecast outlook. “Flying debris may be deadly to those caught without shelter.”
There was probably going to be significant damage to houses, businesses, and cars, the agency said.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office stated that there were numerous downed trees and electrical lines in Portage and Pavilion Townships.
The FedEx building on Portage Road and Stryker Way had partially collapsed, officials said.
They also stated that there was also a report of a woman that suffered a broken leg after it was hit by debris.
A “large and extremely dangerous” tornado was also confirmed near Climax and Battle Creek in Michigan, moving northeast at 45 mph, the NWS reported.
The NWS also said that more thunderstorms are expected on Wednesday across parts of the southern plains into the mid-Mississippi, Ohio, and Tennessee Valleys.
