Oceanside officials have asked the public to avoid the area completely.
The famous pier was first built back in 1888. However, it was destroyed by chaotic waves in 1890 and again in 1902.
Overall, it has had over six restorations.
The most recent restoration of the pier debuted on September 27th,1987. In the last year, it has undergone a $5.5 million upgrade to its pipes and electrical system.
