Amid worries about the current president’s age, mental acuity, and general cognitive abilities, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) backed Joe Biden, calling him “one of the most successful presidents in modern American history.”

AOC praised Biden’s accomplishments during his time in office, pointing out that he helped pass the American Rescue Plan and the Inflation Reduction Act.
“I know who I’m going to choose [for president]: It’s going to be one of the most successful presidents in modern American history,” Ocasio-Cortez said to CNN on Tuesday. “[He] passed the inflation reduction that got us the American Rescue Plan that ensured that we could pass one of the largest federal investments in climate change in U.S. history.”
Following the revelation that Biden’s memory was “significantly limited” in a recent special counsel report, GOP critics of the president, as well as many Democrat voters, have questioned his mental capacity for some time now.
According to the special counsel report, the current president presented himself as “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” which would reportedly make it difficult for jurors to find him guilty, Hur claimed.
Nonetheless, AOC dismissed the criticism of Biden’s age as a valid worry, noting that the Republican front-runner for president, 77-year-old former President Donald Trump, is not that much younger than Biden, who is 81.
“I think right now, when it comes to the president’s age, folks are talking about how he’s 81,” the Democrat congresswoman said. “But we have to look at the fact that, first of all, Donald Trump is around the same age. They could have gone to high school together. And beyond that, Donald Trump has 91 indictments.”
However, Biden’s detractors have consistently pointed out that, despite the fact that Trump is not significantly younger than Biden, the former GOP president appears to have far superior mental acuity in comparison to Biden, he’s much more eloquent, and Trump does not make significant gaffes like Biden does.
The most recent example of this occurred during President Biden’s address to the nation after Special Counsel Robert Hur released his report. After Hur explained that he saw Biden as a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” Biden spoke to the country to try and prove that his age and memory are not an issue for him. However, ironically, Biden went on to confuse the presidents of Mexico and Egypt, and he maintained a promise to serve all people “whether they were from a red state or a green state,” seemingly forgetting that the Democrat party is represented by the color blue.
A few moments later, during the same address, Biden became visibly furious and even yelled at a CNN reporter after she questioned his age and mental fitness. His outburst was reminiscent of what older individuals typically experience during early-onset dementia.
Additionally, Dr. Marty Makary of Johns Hopkins University expressed his belief on Fox News that “Biden is exhibiting signs of ‘age-related dementia’ that will likely continue over the next four years.”
Nevertheless, AOC has ignored the opinions of notable, credible doctors and American voters in general by doubling down on her support of Biden.
“There’s already been a primary [where] voters have outright rejected Dean Phillips,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “President Biden is going to be the Democratic nominee, and hopefully, he’ll be reelected as president of the United States.”
