On Wednesday, Trump will be meeting with the Teamsters Union in an effort to take away a huge endorsement from Biden.
The meeting for Trump will be with Teamsters President Sean O’Brien, Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman, the union’s executive board and other members in Washington D.C., according to Teamsters.
The current president was also invited to participate in a meet-and-greet with the union on Wednesday, after receiving Teamsters endorsement in 2020.
However, it is not clear if Biden will meet with Teamsters on Wednesday, but a Biden campaign official told NBC News that he “looks forward to meeting with the Teamsters and earning their endorsement.”
According to the powerful union, the roundtable meetings will be an opportunity for the candidates to discuss how both sides “can work together to empower and protect workers, promote high labor standards and strengthen the American economy while expanding the middle class.”
Additionally, the group also announced they sent an invite to meet with former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley (R-S.C.).
“Our members want to hear from all candidates of all parties about what they plan to do for working people as President,” O’Brien said in a statement.
The union president also said that their members do not fall into any one political side.
“Our members are working in all 50 states and represent every political background, including no affiliation,” O’Brien said. “Our union wants every candidate to know that there are 1.3 million Teamsters nationwide whose votes will not be taken for granted. Workers’ voices must be heard.”
According to the latest poll, Trump leads Biden by five points to become the next president of the United States.
