The discovery was revealed on Wednesday in Stockholm, Sweden, by the country’s national bomb squad in an incident labeled “an attempted terror attack” by Israel’s ambassador.

Embassy staff notified authorities of the explosive device, which helped them quickly arrive at the scene in order to detonate it in a controlled manner.

According to the Swedish outlet Aftonbladet, it has been alleged that the dangerous “device was a hand grenade.”

“Today we were subject to an attempted attack against the Embassy of Israel in Stockholm and its employees. We thank the Swedish authorities for their swift response. We will not be intimidated by terror,” tweeted Ziv Nevo Kulman, Israel’s ambassador to Sweden.

Additionally, police declined to give any further details on the seemingly deadly device and how it was planted on embassy grounds.

Meanwhile, Israelis have been cautious ever since the start of the Israel-Hamas war, which was first initiated by the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7th, when at least 1,200 people were slaughtered while hundreds were later abducted.

Foreign Minister Israel Katz commented on the alleged bomb threat, thanking the embassy staff in Sweden and the Swedish police “for their vigilance and quick handling of the attempt to attack the embassy.”
