Multiple sources familiar with the move told the press that Brian Swenson has resigned from his position as national political director in the Ramaswamy campaign and joined the 45th president’s team.
Tricia McLaughlin, Ramaswamy’s communications director, told the press that they “love Brian” and that “it is a good move for him.”
McLaughlin also stated that the former director’s responsibilities would now be handled by Senior Adviser Mike Biundo.
“He was primarily based in New Hampshire, and about a month and a half ago Mike Biundo came on as a national senior adviser and has largely been absorbing Brian’s role, so this is not — does not come as a surprise to anyone,” McLaughlin said.
Swenson’s decision came after the Ramaswamy team’s director, Brandon Goodyear, also stepped away from the campaign earlier this month.
According to media reports, Thursday will be Swenson’s last day in the Ramaswamy campaign.
At this moment, it is unclear what his role will be once he joins the Trump team.
