Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has announced that she served a subpoena  “to produce documents in a criminal case.”

On Wednesday, Pelosi’s assistant read her statement where she announced she was serving a subpoena.

“This is to notify you formally pursuant to Rule Eight of the rules of the House of Representatives, that I, the Honorable Nancy Pelosi, Speaker Emerita, and U.S. Representatives for the 11th Congressional District of California, have been served with third party subpoenas from the prosecution and the defendant to produce documents in a criminal case and United States District Court for the Northern District of California,” Pelosi’s statement read. “After consultation with the Office of General Counsel, I have determined that compliance with the subpoenas is consistent with the privileges and of the House to the extent it requires production of non-privileged information. The responses to the subpoenas will be identical.”

According to media reports, it is believed that the subpoena is related to the upcoming trial of Paul Pelosi’s alleged assailant in a violent home invasion last year.

David DePape, is the 42-year-old guy who stormed into the former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s home in San Francisco in October 2022 and beat her husband, Paul Pelosi, with a hammer.

“Where’s Nancy?” DePape confronted and intimidated Paul Pelosi before the 83-year-old could dial 911.

Bodycam footage from responding policemen shows DePape opening the door with a hammer before raising it over Paul Pelosi’s head to smash him.

The former Speaker’s husband was then hospitalized and underwent surgery to fix a skull fracture and other injuries caused in the attack.

DePape is set to go on trial this month.
