Trump Slams ‘Lawless’ Justice System, Claims Bragg Interfering With 2024

Former President Donald Trump delivered stinging remarks condemning not just the New York case where he was arraigned Tuesday afternoon, but against all of the investigations targeting him.

“I never thought anything like this could ever happen in America,” Trump said early in the speech Tuesday night from his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida to an audience of supporters. “The only crime that I have committed is to fiercely defend our nation from those who seek to destroy it.”

He later said Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, whose grand jury brought the indictment, should be prosecuted or resign for the “fake case.”

“Our justice system has become lawless. They’re using it now—in addition to everything else—to win elections,” Trump said.

Trump was in a New York City courtroom Tuesday afternoon, where he pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts including charges of falsifying business forms, violating state campaign finance laws and conspiracy in connection to paying hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels.

“They want to settle the case, but I want no part of that,” Trump told the audience, to applause.

Trump also tackled the investigation at the federal level into the dispute over classified documents at Mar-a-Lago, the investigation in Georgia about the 2020 election and civil litigation from New York Attorney General Letitia James.

Trump called Bragg a “radical Left, George Soros-backed prosecutor.”

“This fake case was brought only to interfere with the upcoming 2024 election, and it should be dropped immediately,” Trump said.

During the remarks, Trump said that Bragg’s wife even said her husband was targeting him.

“The criminal is the district attorney because he illegally leaked grand jury information, for which he should be prosecuted, or at a minimum, he should resign,” Trump said. “Alvin Bragg’s wife confirmed a report that claimed her husband has Trump nailed on felonies. She has since locked down her Twitter account. His chief prosecutor, who represented the Democrats and crooked Hillary Clinton and a firm run by Chuck Schumer’s brother, Robert, he quit the firm in order to go to work in the DA’s office in order to get Trump. … Ultimately he quit as chief prosecutor because Bragg didn’t think he had a case.”

Trump referred to special counsel Jack Smith, investigating the classified documents case, as a “bomb thrower,” who is “harassing my people.”

“Everybody was in shock. Nobody had ever heard of such a raid before. Who would think that that could happen today?” Trump said, regarding the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago. “I immediately thought of the 4th Amendment that protects against unreasonable search and seizure. … They are not looking at me through the eyes of the non-criminal Presidential Records Act. This is a new one. They are looking at me through the Espionage Act of 1917, where the penalty is death.”

Trump also brought up the Fulton County, Georgia, case, where rumors swirl regarding pending charges.

“In the wings they’ve got a local racist Democrat district attorney in Atlanta who is doing everything in her power to indict me over an absolutely perfect phone call,” Trump said.
