Elon Musk recently revealed that Twitter had an internal Slack channel which was called the “Fauci Fan Club.”

The tweet was a part of a thread that was very critical of Dr. Anthony Fauci and his claims about the benefits of Gain-of-Function research. A previous post talked about how Fauci had previously discussed that the benefits of Gain-of-Function research far outweighed the risks.

His claim in the paper was that the risk of a pandemic breakout included in the research was very minimal compared to the knowledge that could be gained from it.

Another criticism against the doctor was that the person who is supposed to be monitoring him and making sure he is acting in an ethical way is his wife, Christine Grady, which is unethical in itself.

This was met with outrage after the Twitter Files recently revealed how the social media platform had monitored, and censored certain information in regards with COVID, and what was made viewable to the public.

Musk also called for Community Notes, an open source where data is available publicly, to correct or amend the thread where this information was revealed.
