New York Governor Kathy Hochul has announced major grants for abortion providers across the Empire State.

During a press conference on Wednesday, Governor Kathy Hochul (D-N.Y.) said she is proud to announce $13.4 million worth of grants for more than 120 abortion clinics across the state.

The Democrat pledged to continue bolstering their services. This comes amid a recent report which revealed 66 clinics in 15 states have stopped providing abortions since Roe v. Wade was overturned.

“The rights of millions of women across this country are in the hands of just a few states,” she said. “If you don’t think it matters who your leaders are in your states and in your state legislature, that is the wakeup call. That is the wakeup call.”

Hochul’s move joins other Democrat-led states who are also pushing to protect access to abortion.
