The class of 2022’s average ACT scores are reportedly the lowest in three decades.

According to a report released on Wednesday, the average composite score for students was 19.8 out of 36 points.

The report also found that 42% of test takers met none of the subject benchmarks in english, reading, science and math.

In 2021, 38% of students who took the test failed to meet those benchmarks.

2022 is the fifth year in a row that ACT scores have declined. Experts have said that the pandemic and school lockdowns played a major role in the 30-year low.
